I Drew I painted I took photos....Finally I got in!
Ual Wimbledon fine ART-painting BA hon's Started that semester Oct 2012 I entered as a mature career change artist with some history a hard worker who never really stopped making stuff, I realized I needed direction a theme and a consistent style that would make me the undergraduate I yearned to be, deconstruction self examination casting aside what was comfortable bearing new ideas and approaches suggested at crits and tutorials was a bit difficult.
Metamorphosis: Titian 2012 | The National Gallery, London
Changed me.
A few days on a uni trip Staying at a hostel at Gare du lyon Paris.... changed me.
I drew and painted the Eiffel tower out on the street plaza on wallpaper on white lining paper and astonished my self in its honest direct lines and energy drawing live direct from life using pastels charcoal I felt as if the greats were not so remote after all.
I like to travel and I can adapt to a variety of locations around the world my curiosity has taken me to Cornwall, Scotland, Europe and the Americas.
I always prearrange a stay at a location that has an artist colony nearby free studio space or a space to create and find inspiration a base from which i plan a variety of field trip research walks .
My early life as an artist was basically all self taught, I attempted my first studio space connected to an arty cafe bistro and could hang my work on its walls to sell, in Westcliff on sea my artwork sold and I did not think about attending any art school, until on a few trips to London looking at Galleries around town noticing how Graduates became emerging art star Gods, i found my ambitions for something far more challenging.
I got into art school now I Climb Mountains and Follow Rivers.
To clear my mind of repetitive patterns I am drawn to remote walking and forest glades with that connection my mind begins to be in the moment and with nothing but a back pack notebook I am an artist on the run,
